find out more about bumblebees pre-school curriculum and ethos

Bumblebees aim to provide child-care of the highest quality, in a friendly, safe and stimulating environment. Each child is treated as an individual so as to feel respected, valued and confident. This provides the opportunity to develop at their own pace.
Active involvement and management from a parental run committee is strongly supported and encouraged.
Bumblebees believe that high quality care and education is promoted by providing children with safe, clean, attractive ‘age and stage’ appropriate resources. The equipment and resources provided for the children help to consolidate and expand their knowledge, skills, interests and aptitudes.
The pre-school is equipped with a superb range of toys and educational aids. All equipment and resources are easily accessible for child-initiated play, including computers, reading area, and an outdoor play area with safety surfacing to which the children have free access at all times.
During each day there are also varied teacher-led activities, often inspired by the term’s theme. Past themes have included Mini-Beasts, Pirates & Mermaids, Knights & Princesses, Transport, Animals, Dinosaurs, Space.
We believe that outings and trips are an important part of a child’s development. The children benefit from close contact with Broadwas School and attend events at the School such as assemblies and plays. We also attend the local Church for special services which include Easter, Harvest and Christmas. The pre-School endeavour to visit local attractions whenever they fit in with our topics and interests.
